Tokenization isn’t a slideshow anymore. It’s infrastructure. DTCC ran its first live production trades of tokenized stocks, ETFs and Treasuries, as the UK stood up a 54-firm taskforce to do the same. Everything else is downstream of moves like this. 👇

TradFi is officially settling on blockchain rails.

⚖️ Rules of the Road

The SEC put three crypto rules on its July agenda this week, covering token offerings, broker-dealer custody, and market structure. Meanwhile, the CLARITY Act is still waiting on a Senate floor vote before the August recess. Rules could come as early as mid-2027. That gap between guidance-led US supervision and rule-based EU supervision stays open another cycle, and firms are positioning accordingly.

The UK is working to close its own gaps. HM Treasury's Wholesale Digital Markets Champion pulled together 54 firms and set a twelve-month roadmap that starts with tokenized repo and points toward a digital gilt pilot in early 2027. The projections are significant, with annual output up to £33 billion by 2035.

Asia continued to prove its focus on tokenization this week. The SBI and DigiFT launch is regulated under Singapore's Securities and Futures Act and relies on DigiFT's MAS and Hong Kong licenses. Regulators there keep drawing a clean line between issuer-aligned tokenized securities and synthetic exposure, and this launch sits on the trusted side of that line.

💼 Deals Deals Deals

Capital kept flowing into the real infrastructure building real-world assets.

💰 Tokenized Cash

Stablecoins stole the show once again, as they’re quickly eating the financial system. Startale, SBI and DigiFT are piloting a JPYSC stablecoin for tokenized-securities settlement and automated dividends, which is the settlement layer Japan's equity push will need.

M0 now accepts Centrifuge-tokenized JTRSY as eligible collateral, turning a tokenized Treasury fund into stablecoin backing. Figure's YLDS went live on Copper, and tBRL and tMXN launched on Bebop.

🛠️ New Stuff Live

Babe wake up, the new onchain financial infrastructure just dropped:

🌍 The Asset Map

Up and to the right is the name of the game. Distributed RWA value is near $34 billion, with more than a million holders, and BlackRock's BUIDL alone holds roughly $2.87 billion. Franklin Templeton led issuer growth this year with about $1.6 billion added onchain, and tokenized Treasuries now make up close to half of all distributed value.

Equities are the fastest-moving frontier. The DTCC go-live and Ondo's DTC-backed stocks shifted tokenized equities from synthetic wrappers toward real ownership records. Injective's transfer-agent filing chases the same prize from the protocol side. Commodities stayed steady, led by gold. And Keeta and Ark Group teased a 2027 exchange for tokenized Gulf commodities, which is one to watch rather than bank.

🐘 Foundation Members Move The Market

Members had their strongest week so far:

Securitize ran the gauntlet. It partnered with Cantor Fitzgerald to bring IPOs and follow-ons onchain, which moves tokenization from secondary trading into capital formation, and it crossed $5 billion in tokenized RWA value in partnership with Apollo, BlackRock, BNY, Hamilton Lane, and KKR.

tZERO widened its regulatory footprint. Its introducing-broker subsidiary completed CFTC registration and NFA membership, extending its stack from tokenized securities into regulated derivatives. Pair that with their turnkey tokenized-equities work with fellow member Dinari from the week prior, and the derivatives push reads as a strong strategy.

Maple turned tokenomics into a rule as its MIP-021 passed with 99.97% support, tying SYRUP buybacks to a fixed share of revenue. The first buybacks are set for August. H1 AUM reached $4.6 billion, up 81% on the year.

Two more to keep on the radar. Polymesh ships its v8 mainnet upgrade on July 22, and Stellar is joining the DTC tokenization service as its second public chain, putting a member right in the middle of the week's biggest story.

✌️ Closing Bell
